In Bangladesh, the title of engineer is referred to as B.Sc. Engineering (Bachelor of Science in Engineering) at the undergraduate level. Likewise, the master's degree is called the Master of Engineering (M.Eng) and the Master of Science in Engineering (M.Sc.Engg). At the undergraduate level, the duration of the course is 4 years while the master's degree has a duration usually is 1.5 years. Graduated Engineers incorporated in Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh are legally and authorized to use 'Engr.' before their name (eg, Engr. John Smith).
India
The engineering courses in India are organized and formed under the auspices of the University Grants Committee (UGC) and the All India Technical Education Council (AICTE).
In India, engineering qualifications include the following:
- Bachelor's Degree (4 years after classes 12 and 3 years after Diploma in Engineering): BE (Bachelor of Engineering) and BTech (Bachelor of Technology). Both are equal. Admission is usually through a technical entrance exam.
- Master's Degree : 2 years or more after BE and BTech): ME (Master of Engineering), MTech (Master of Technology) and MSc (Eng) (Master of Science in Engineering). Admission usually requires a qualification in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering or some work experience in engineering. The MTech and ME degrees are of 2 years duration and usually have courses in the first year and the project in the second year. The MSc (Eng) degree is typically research-oriented and may require 2 or more years to complete.
- Doctoral degree (3 to 5 years): PhD (Doctor of Philosophy). Entry requirements vary throughout the university, but usually include a master's degree in engineering or a bachelor's degree in engineering with excellent academic records.
Vietnamese
In Vietnam, the rate is B? Ng k? s? (specialist k? s?), the first degree after 5 years of study. Vietnam's Ministry of Education has also issued a separate regulation for awarding degrees not in accordance with international regulations. And the title of Engineer named "The Degree of Engineer" in degree (eg Degree of Engineer in Information Technology ). Engineer level is ranked at the same academic level as a bachelor's degree or master's degree, and is often known literally as "diploma engineer" (abbreviated Dipl.-Ing. Or DI).
