Gameplay
Most Wanted is like any other Need for Speed ââgame, where players choose one car and race against time limits or other drivers to achieve goals. Police pursuits have once again been integrated into specific racing sessions, where police use vehicles and tactics to stop players' cars and catch players, such as Need for Speed ââIII Hot Hotsuit and < i> Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 . When the players control the car faster and are increasingly dependent on the increased nitric oxide velocity, the oxide meter now automatically recharges for the first time since its introduction at Underground , and the driving sequence becomes fast-paced and very similar to series Burnout .
Three different areas are offered in Rockport city, along with cycling weather. The racing event takes place between sunrise and sunset, unlike in the Underground where the event takes place in the evening. Grand Theft Auto mode-like Free Roam is provided like Need for Speed: Underground 2 , but is still limited to Career mode, as well as pursuit-based events in other modes.
The brand promotions previously seen in Underground 2, are also here, with Old Spice, Burger King, Castrol, Ax Unlimited, and Edge shaving gel restaurants. The Cingular logo is still visible in the gim wireless communication system. The performance, body, and visual parts that can be purchased in this game also come from real companies. However, Best Buy stores do not return from Underground 2 .
Mode
This game provides players with three game modes. Quick Race mode allows players to choose cars and events and immediately start the race. Available cars and events are unlocked as the player progresses through the storyline in Career mode. Reaching the goal by winning the race and completing the action, dubbed "Milestones", during police chase, as well as the minimum of Bounty required to advance in the story line and race against one of the 15 Blacklist mode racers. In the Xbox 360 version, players are awarded every time a Blacklist opponent is defeated. Career Mode introduces new features - the ability to win an opponent Blacklist car ("pink slip"), bonus functionality, extra cash or auto parts and decorations, after defeating a questionable opponent. It comes in the form of six rival pink - slip markers (disguised as bonus markers), two bonus function markers, and three custom rectangular section markers where there are body parts, visual enhancements, and performance markers ("Junkman Marker") that players can choose - where players can choose only two. Cars and new parts are also unlocked as players progress through Career mode by beating Blacklist racers.
In addition to the Quick Race and Career mode, there is also a "Challenge Series" mode that involves 69 increasingly difficult challenges in which players are required to successfully complete the Tollbooth race and chase challenges, such as marking a number of police cars. The pre-tuning cars used in every Challenge are fixed, ranging from most Car Careers with poor handling to traffic vehicles such as garbage trucks or police cars. An additional bonus car can be unlocked as the player progresses through Challenge mode. Challenge Mode also has a cheat; by entering the word 'burgerking', or for the console by pressing a certain code on the d-pad, at the beginning of the game, players can take advantage of Burger King's exclusive challenges. Once successfully completed, the game will give you something, like the "Junkman" section. You can complete these sections to your vehicle in the "My Cars" menu to give extra performance to your car. These sections are not available in "Career Mode".
In terms of actual race variations, Most Wanted inherits some common racing modes in its predecessor Underground . There are four game modes available: race Circuit , point-to-point race Sprint , Lap Knockout and Drag race, remains largely unchanged since the first iteration of Underground, while Drifting, Street X, Underground Racing League tournaments and Outrun racing are removed. Meanwhile, Most Wanted saw the introduction of two new race variations, which emphasized the speed. The first mode is known as Tollbooth , where a player runs alone to a designated checkpoint along a point-to-point route before time runs out; the more time players have when they reach the toll booth, the more time they have to arrive at the next door. The second mode, dubbed Speedtrap , sees drivers competing against each other to get the highest accumulated speed record in some traffic cameras. At speed trap/traffic camera, players accelerate their cars to reach top speeds. Accumulated velocity decreases over a period of time after the opponent crosses the finish line first.
Pursuit System
Most Search shows embedding in-game searches for the first time in series since Hot Pursuit 2 . In Career mode, police pursuits may occur during a race or during free roaming in the city, depending on the frequency of police units in the area and a player's traffic violation has been committed. Players can immediately start a chase from the safe house or game menu by selecting an unfinished Milestone or Bounty challenge. Pursuit can also be started by selecting the appropriate Challenge in Challenge Series mode. Traffic violations committed by a player are known in the game as Breach . These include speeding, excessive speeding, reckless driving, off road driving, property damage, hitting and running, crashing into police units, and refusing to arrest.
This system is significantly more complex than the previous incarnation of Hot Pursuit . The manner in which the police deal with a player is now determined by the "hot level" of the player's current car. The heat level, which increases with the length of police chase and the amount of damage caused by players during the chase, adds a round to the chase. The higher the heat level of the car, the more aggressive police units against the players, using additional tactics and tools, such as roadblocks, spike strips, police helicopters and heavier and faster police cars such as police cars and Federal units.
In Career mode, the pursuit is integrated into the game in such a way that it is necessary to participate in the pursuit in order to challenge the Blacklist racer. Players must complete Milestones that involve at least carrying out a number of traffic violations or chasing duration during the chase, and collecting a number of Bounty, a form of credit accumulation as players continue to evade police or damage police units. The car's heat level can be reduced by changing the physical appearance of the car by changing body parts or paint colors, or by using other cars purchased with lower heat levels for racing on the streets. If the car is not used by the player, its heat level will slowly decline over time. The rap sheets, with notes such as player offenses, expenses to declare, tactics used and long chases, are also available for hacking into police records.
Players are provided with some additional features that are useful during the chase. Speedbreaker, provided in the driving interface, slows time similar to bullet time while temporarily adding weight to the player's car which allows it to be more difficult for other vehicles to push, and induce drift. This allows players to have limited time to quickly maneuver the car out of difficult situations, or assess escape routes through road blocks or spike line blocks. [1] Another feature in Most Wanted is Pursuit Breakers, a roadside object designed to collapse when a player uses their car to knock down his support, either destroying or disabling the police following a car (which can be seen visually in many cases). In one instance, if a player crashes into a gas station, the roof of the station falls potentially destroying the police unit that follows them. [2]
In-game pursuit is divided into two main parts. The first part, which is a real chase, occurs when players are being actively pursued by the police. The second part, known as "Cooldown" mode, occurs when the police have lost sight of the player and are searching for him. During this time period, the associated pursuit and timer are temporarily suspended while the Cooldown bar is activated, which will slowly fill with time. Once the bar fills up completely, the player is considered successful in avoiding the chase. Conversely, if the police unit sees players, the chase is back. To avoid pursuit, you need to enter Cooldown mode first. This is achieved by taking a certain distance from the police or by paralyzing police units. The cooldown point, the area in the world usually not visible from the street or helicopter, can be used to hide from pursuers and help the players escape. If players find a hideout and stop, they will spend less time in Cooldown mode.
Multiplayer
Online multiplayer is available on Xbox 360, Xbox, PC, and PlayStation Portable. Up to 4 players can participate in the online race and can race in 4 game modes including circuit, sprint, lap knockout and speed trap. In addition, there is an option to enable Matching Performance in online races. When matching performance is enabled, all cars in the race are automatically upgraded to match performance (ie top speed, handling, etc.) of the fastest car in a particular race. However, once the race is over, all modifications made to the car with matching performance are removed. The online multiplayer lobby closed on August 1, 2011.
Car
There is a wide range of cars available for the main Career mode of the game. Cars like the Fiat Punto and Cadillac CTS are only seen in Most Wanted and tuners are returning from Underground 2 (eg Toyota Supra, Mazda RX-7 and Mazda RX-8) but the SUV does not return except as a police vehicle not playable. Exotic like Lotus Elise, Lamborghinis, Porsche made their first appearance since Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 and classic muscle cars featured in Black Edition (eg Chevrolet Camaro) is a new series. As the game progresses, better and faster cars will be unlocked and racing becomes faster and more intense as players make their way through the game. Cars must be purchased in many cars or won by getting a pink slip to Blacklist Racer's car, as described in the Modes section. Cars can be purchased in many cars in stock conditions without any increase. Not everything is available or affordable for purchase in the early stages of Career mode and must be unlocked by defeating certain Blacklist members. Blacklist member cars can also be won for free after defeating them by selecting a special hidden pink card that provides 4 types of unknown criteria and 2 known criteria, the two criteria are performance and visual enhancements with four others containing slippage to get out of prison for free, increasing the number of times a vehicle can be seized before paying a fine to get it back, extra money and of course, a pink slip to a Black Member Search car. These cars are unique in every way, already upgraded with the latest custom parts, therefore, making it the fastest available vehicle. While the game features a police car, Most Wanted does not allow players to play as police chases are in pursuit. However, players can drive several police cars in Challenge mode, but are only used in checkpoint races and police pursuits, where police are still chasing players.
As with previous Underground installations, the performance and physical appearance of the player's car can be modified widely, but the options for exterior and interior modifications have been significantly reduced to only the essentials. Customization of side mirrors, lights, exhaust and individual bodily pieces are dropped from body customization. However, instead of individual body kit pieces, up to 5 kits of the entire body can be selected, some of which widen the car's attitude. Customization of "Car Specialties" (including neon, nitrous, hydraulic, spinner, door, separate hood and trunk audio) has been completely eliminated with the exception of color windows and special gauges. Customization of paint is limited to main body color (with mirror, exhaust, spoiler, roof of spoon, and brake color option missing) and the player can apply only one vinyl because the multi layer feature does not exist. Unlike the Underground games, visual customization is used to lower the "heat level" of the car, instead of increasing the "visual rating" of the car. In addition, players are allowed to assume a sleeping appearance (leaving unmodified or barely modified car outside) for cars without penalty in Most Wanted .

Plot
The player character arrived in Rockport City, riding the BMW M3 GTR racing version. Following Mia Townsend (Josie Maran), player characters prove their driving skills. However, when the duo stopped at an intersection at Downtown Rockport, they attracted the attention of a veteran police sergeant named Nathan Cross (Dean McKenzie), who blocked their path with the police issuing the Chevrolet Corvette C6. When Mia quickly escaped, Cross and her female partner confronted the player and his car, wanted to seize it, due to the fact that the car was illegal on the streets, and told the player that he ended the street race in Rockport.. However, just before he can catch a player, a call comes through the radio about a high speed chase nearby, and he is asked to help the chase. Cross is reluctant to let the player go, but warns the player by saying "next time, you will not be so lucky", and scratches the BMW side with his car keys when he leaves.
The race seemed to support the player's character against the Black List, a group of the fifteen most famous drivers sought by the Rockport Police Department. That is, until their newest member, Clarence "Razor" Callahan (Derek Hamilton), sabotages the M3 GTR and wins the player's character car in a pink slip race. After the M3 GTR is withdrawn, as Razor and the other blacklist members mock the player's character, Rockport PD arrives, forcing everyone to escape. Without a car to escape, the player was captured by Cross, but later released for lack of evidence. Mia picks up player characters and then notifies them of Razor's new status as # 1 in the Black List. He then helps by helping acquire new cars and help players character work their way up to Blacklist.
Competitors are beaten one by one, and reputation, new vehicles, and upgrades are granted with every Blacklist member removed. When the new district opens in Rockport (Rosewood, Camden Beach and Downtown Rockport), Mia also prepares hiding places for players to hide in and rap sheets to track how famous they are, instead of placing "side bets" on the player's race. In his attempt to climb the Blacklist, he is assisted by Rog, another street racer who is defeated by a player when he comes to the city, who befriends the players. He provides players with tips and updates about tactics chasing, racing, upgrades, cars etc. However, once the time passes, Rog gets suspicious of the amount of cash Mia earned from the bet, learning that the RPD is monitoring him and the player's advice to avoid it.
Once the player reaches # 2, Rog tells the player that everyone is calling the race between him and Razor, and even the guys from Bayview (the main location in Underground ) place bets on odds for the player's good. After that, Razor calls and sets the location for confrontation. The final challenge for the top spot on the Black List puts the player's character in the race against Razor, with players emerging as winners, thus recruiting BMW M3 GTR. Razor refuses to release ownership of the car, but Mia conquers Razor and returns the key to the player, revealing that he is an undercover police officer. At the same time, Rockport PD arrived at the scene; Razor and all the other blacklist members were arrested, and the player character was chased by the entire Rockport Police Department under Cross's command. During the pursuit, Cross revealed that the player character really helped him in capturing the entire black list and trying to make them give up. With Mia helping her for the last time, the player's character shy away from the police and escaped from Rockport by driving past the old broken bridge. In the end, Cross adds a player character to the National Most Wanted List.
