DA2PP is a multivalent vaccine for dogs that protects against viruses exhibited by alphanumeric characters that make up the acronym: D for dog dysfunction, A2 for type 2 adenovirus canine, which offers cross protection for adenovirus type 1 dogs (more pathogenic of two strains) (see Canine adenovirus), P first for canine parvovirus, and P second for parainfluenza. Because infectious dog hepatitis is another name for type 1 adenovirus kaninus, an H is sometimes used as a substitute A. In DA2PPC, C shows canine coronavirus.

This vaccine is usually given to puppies at 8 weeks of age, followed by 12 weeks of age, and then 16 weeks. This vaccine is given again at the age of 1 year and then every year, or every 3 years. Some vaccine schedules recommended by veterinarians may differ from this.

DA2PPC not including Bordetella . But the combination of Bordetella with DA2PPC prevents kennel cough, by preventing adenovirus, distemper, parainfluenza, and Bordetella .

While the DA2PPC vaccine also protects against parainfluenza, parvovirus, adenovirus and canine coronavirus, it is most important to protect against debilitating diseases that kill and kill dogs, often fatal viral diseases that cause neurological dysfunction, pneumonia, nonspecific systemic symptoms such as fever and fatigue, and weight loss, as well as upper respiratory symptoms and diarrhea, poor appetite, and vomiting. There is no effective antiviral drug against canine distemper virus. Treatment is supportive and consists of antibiotics to prevent secondary infections, anticonvulsants for seizures, and intravenous fluids to prevent dehydration. Given the lethality of distemper and the relative scarcity of side effects from vaccines, all prominent veterinarians recommend the DA2PPC vaccine. Also, even if dog owners do not worry about adenovirus, coronavirus, parvovirus, or parainfluenza, they should vaccinate their dogs to protect them against distemper.

DHPP, DAPP, DA2PP, and DAPPC are not the same. These names are often used interchangeably but differently. Distemper, adenovirus type 1 (thus hepatitis), parainfluenza, and parvovirus are covered by all 4. DHPP includes adenovirus type 1 and may or may not include adenovirus type 2. And only DAPPC includes coronavirus.

DAPP or DA2PP is the most commonly used.
