Certified Property Manager (CPM) is a professional real estate designated by the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and recognized by the National Association of Realtors (NAR).

The Institute offers a comprehensive program developed exclusively for property managers and assets that work with large portfolios of all types of properties. This appointment is considered to be one of the major industrial real estate management credentials. There are over 8,600 professional real estate managers who hold this appointment worldwide. CPM members manage about $ 900 billion in real estate assets.

To achieve CPM designation, candidates must join IREM, which costs about $ 500 per year, and joins the local IREM chapter for the city where the candidate lives. There is also a cost to become a CPM candidate.

To achieve CPM appointment, a candidate must pass approximately 10 required courses provided by IREM, including marketing, human resources, asset management and ethics and complete a management plan on a subject building. Most programs can be taken in the classroom, online or through home study. IREM also examines the candidate's experience and asks for 3 professional references.
